Burlington Country Dancers (BCD) is the group that supports English Country Dancing in the Burlington, VT area.
Our annual English country dance weekend, “Across the Lake”, is scheduled for June 5 & 6, 2026 with Tom Roby calling to music by Karen Axelrod, Rachel Bell, and Naomi Morse. For up-to-date details, click here: http://burlingtoncountrydancers.org/across-the-lake/
From September through April or May, we dance at the Richmond Free Library, 201 Bridge St., Richmond, VT (between Burlington and Montpelier, it’s Exit 11 off I-89) on first and third Fridays (but not always!) It’s always a good idea to look at our online calendar for the most up-to-date info: http://burlingtoncountrydancers.org/dances/ Basics/review session at 6:30pm; dancing to live music 7pm to 9pm. Currently (as of September 2024), we highly recommend that you are fully vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19; masks are optional. But these COVID safety guidelines are subject to change — please contact Val at val.medve@gmail.com for details/updated info.
This summer (2025), in lieu of outdoor dances, we’ll revert to our pre-pandemic tradition of holding a series of beginner-friendly classes for all, led by Barrett Grimm and Martha Kent, to recordings. See “Our Flyers” below for details.
